Low compresson, what to do?

I'm getting my cylinder's checked tomorrow, but in the case that I have low compression, what are my options?

I used that stuff they sell in parts stores, can't remember the name. It comes in a tall, shiny, silver can. Restore, that's what it's called.

Isn't that just a temporary fix? You're engine's gonna die eventually, right?

Worked for me. This stuff seals up the tiny scratches that occur on the cylinder walls. Use it every few months and it shouldn't be a problem.

It really is going to depend on what exactly is causing the lower compression. It could be bad head gaskets, scratches in the cylinder walls, bad rings, build up around the valve seats preventing the valves from closing correctly, or you the compression gauge you have is so crappy that it gives a bad reading. Definately have it check, and have them do a leak-down test too.

I'll try restore first to see what happens.

When should I add the restore? At oil change? Before oil change? In between oil change?
How long should it run with the motor?

I had 1987 300ZX before the max and tried the restore one time.
The advertisement is true it does restore the compression but at the
same time the Engine seem to run very rough. So i never used it again.

I heard blistin Engine flush help as well.

Good luck
