doesnt it say the date on the doorjam?
If it says 1998 its a 1999 if it says 1999 its a 1999.5
This is just hearsay ive heard and Im not sure if its correct but it may lead you in the right direction. The exhaust shop should be familiar with your issue and could/should provide assistance.

when it was made has nothing to do with what type of y-pipe that you need. Like it is said above, if you have an SE-L, it is a 99.5. That is what I have.

What you need to inspect is whether or not it is a fed spec or a cali spec. Mine is a fed spec, but I cannot remember how to tell. Read in the faq's and all those stickies. If you have more than (2, I think) O2 Sensors in front of the engine, you are cali spec. There is also a number that you can look up on the inside firewall of the engine. It will be over there on the Passenger's side though.

If your 99 is a cali spec, then it's considered a 99.5

I think that info is in the How-to's sticky at the top of the forums.

He is right though, if you know that you are Cali spec, then you are 99.5. They didn't start making Cali Spec until then.

Sorry about before, I didn't know you knew what spec you were.
