How good is the "sport" suspension on a factory '95-99 SE?

So wait, say I get H&R springs with illumina shocks/struts. Do I need some kind of mounts for the rear illuminas? What are the rear mounts for? Why only for the rear? Are stock mounts bad or something?
Sorry, but I'm a total noob when it comes to things like shocks/struts.

Tirerack.com has a great resource- check the survey results for the tires that you are interested in and you can get a pretty good sense of what rocks. Also autocrossers are pretty well informed as to what tires grip the best in different conditions.

I know what they do and I know what they are for, but are they really that necessary for say an already soft setup such as H&R springs paired with illuminas?

I'd say they are even more important when your springs are softer, due to the increased chance that you'll hit bumpstops. If I were to do it all over again, I'd still buy the motivational mounts. Personally I think it's a steal at its price, for a 1" increase in suspension travel.

PLUMMAXSE, I would recommend a tire for you with a very stiff sidewall and an almost race compound to it. Falken Azenis Rs (Z-rated) is an awesome tire. They have a weird tread, but they are excellent in wet and dry conditions. The tire patches are large and look kind of like a motorcycle tires.....you know....a crotch rocket?
Take a look at them here. See if they have them in a size that you want. Plus, free shipping!

(I will be getting some of these in a couple of months. I know they are good because I have driven and ridden with my brother while he has them on his car.)
