I have a 95 GLE and the only thing i have performance-wise is a cold air intake.... once i installed it , it started makin a noise when it idles....it sounds like a propan heater or something...lol,i was wandering if there is anyway to fix that or if anyone else has the same situation....but other than that the car sounds great when im getting on it...visit my site.... http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/534690/1

its just the open element filter sucking in air, and you are stuck with that sound, I LOVE it, dont know why you dont...

 

Anyone one have a sound clip of it? Im just curious of how it sounds.

 

if u wanna get rid of it, u can swap ur intake to a short ram setup. even though it's a short ram, the "psssh" sound will be there, but not as noticible as CAI.

 

i HATE that pshhhhhhhhh during idle and specialy when i turn off the car. it makes me wanna put stock airbox back in. that sound SUCKS !! sounds just like my bathroom faucet !!!

i have a injen cai and i don't hear anything at idle. is that normal?

 

unless im mistaken, the injen isn't a true CAI since it sits behind the radiator and sucks in air down there (hot air)

your correct, the only true cold air is the Place racing where it sits in the wheel wel. As for the pssssssssssssss sound , i like it.

 

personally i love that sound, and i have a short ram and you can still hear it nice and clear. so theres no real way of getting rid out it unless you put the stock back on
