Ebrake handle removal

How do I do this? I was thinking of replacing it with a momo, or just something black that would match the shift boot I'm getting from Redline.

it's kinda tough. some people say heat it up to get it flexible, i never did. wrap it up and try to wack/chissle(sp?) it off. it's pretty tough but will budge in time.
