Headlight relay making buzzing noise

Headlight relay making buzzing noise
ok this is my problem,
when i start the car and dont touch the headlight switch i get this buzzing sound from the headlight relay which is a black box that sits behind the passenger headlight, but as soon as i turn the lights on the buzzing goes away but my drivers side headlight does not turn on, also when the car is started but no lights are on i dont even get daytime running lights.
so i called up nissan and they want 183 bucks canadian for this little black box, are u kidding me??!?!?
just seeing if anyone out there has had the same problem as i am having now and what they did to solve it....i would have search but ya know its down right now
