I just heard about that for the first time. I just installed them on my buddys 2 maxs. I gonna put one on mine soon. How is this done?

you dont need to torque it, its suggested about 30 lbs + or - 2 ft lbs of torque, alot of people have done it without torqueing, just tighten it with a large ratchet, i perosnally borrowed a torque wrench from autozone to play it safe, others havnet torqued it and have been driving for years without torquingOriginally Posted by drjohnnyfever

be careful, i used the right tools, if you over tighten it, your front end could just fall apart if you turn too hard..
just make sure its snug and hand tighten it. after hand tightened, turn it reverse about 1/4"-1/2". but if you really want to, torque it with a torque wrench.

they are talking about the nuts that attach the brackets to the strut towers, are you talking about the bolt that hold the bar to the brackets? those you can crank down until they are tight, there isn't any force pushing the bolt out of the hole there, so you don't really risk stripping that one. But the nuts attaching the brackets to the towers should be torqued to 30 lb-ft, just borrow the wrench from autozone, no need to risk screwing stuff up when it is so easy to avoid.Originally Posted by drjohnnyfever
so the bar should be able to slip in the brackets

Use a torque wrench.
It'll be the best damn $20 you'll ever spend.
Don't listen to anyone's advice about "Just use your strength to tighten the bolts".
GO BUY A DAMN TORQUE WRENCH.
