My alternator died on friday. Got it replaced the same day and ever since than my air bag light on my dash keeps blinking. I pulled the fuse from the inside box and it was fine. Is there anything else I can do to make it stop? I never had a problem with this light blinking before.

Well, what you can do is reset the computer and see if it comes back. On my car, the airbag light flashes when it is cold out. When it gets warm, it goes away. I didn't think at first the temp had anything to do with it, but it's happened 4 times now--light went off when weather turned warm, when the airbag computer was IN diagnostic mode.

If you have a steady flash, that's just the warning. To put it into diagnostic mode, you press the door switch about 5 to 7 times fast right after you turn the key from off to on. Then your airbag lamp should blink a code at you. Just leave it in that mode and see if it disappears after a day or two.

To tell you the truth imho the fact that the light turns on is indicating that something is electronically failing, like a module. But since the system checks each time you turn the key on, if it the light stays off, it's good for the time being. Eventually it will add up to big bucks at the Nissan dealer. Good luck.

I could not get it into diagnostic mode using the door switch. I remember doing it once before but forgot how. I reset the ecu but the light still flashes.

i had the same problem coming back from arecent trip to vegas....on the way home my engine starts wanting to die on me, so i keep the pedal floored becasue im about 200 miles from home with no clue on where to go if i break down, i do pull over once and check things under the hood things seemed to be fine, so i jump back on the highway and all my electrical starts taking a dump, my wipers slowed down real bad, then the clock started to disappear, then the car started doing it again , wanting to stall. i pull off again and let the car just sit there, after a pee break and a smoke i jump back on the interstate with no problems all the way home.........also i want to mention that my airbag and seatbelt light kept flashing during the whole ordeal, i work with diesel maechanics and they said that my alternator isnt holding the right amount of charge for the battery, so now im left with scrappin up 200 bucks for a new one, but before i do that i want to know if it could possibly be my puter? and if so, where is the diagnostic codes located at on the forum? thanks for any info
