The small plastic button that keeps the buckle from sliding down my driver's-side seatbelt is missing. I looked at the NHTSA website to see if there was a service bulletin on this problem and, sure enough, there were two.

Anybody out there ever tried to get Nissan to fix this after their car is out of warranty? IIRC, there is generally no expiration for Government-mandated safety items like seat belts. I once had an accord that had the seat belt retractor fail and Honda fixed it for free - even though the car had been out of warranty for some time.

Check you warranty booklet or contact your dealer. My warranty booklet says seatbelts are covered for the life of the vehicle.

This has nothing to do with a Maxima but the seatbelt on my Dad's 86 Jeep Cherokee has broken. Think the Jeep dealer will fix it for free?
