Aluminum Flywheel Owners, Help!

So I was reading around on NissanPerformanceMagazine when I came across this : http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/october03/350z_fly/ . Read on to the 6th parragraph, it says "...the idle was bogging the engine causing the car to die. We bumped the idle up 100 RPM and this fixed the problem."

Alright, I've had a Fidanza flywheel sitting on the floor next to my bed since October and I'm finally gonna be putting it in (myself and 2 friends) along with an Exedy Stage I clutch before this June.

I've never heard of anything like the quoted problem happening on the Max's VQ30DE. I know it's a different engine and car, but I just want to make sure about some things, so correct me if I'm wrong:

1st- Fidanza flywheels do not tend to have any adverse effects on a VQ's idle, unlike say, UR flywheels, due to it's being about 4 pounds heavier
2nd- OTHER THAN through messing with the programing on the computer , there is no other way to adjust the idle speed (I know like the SR20DE has a screw looking tab for a flathead over the intake manifold to adjust the idle, then something else to adjust the fuel mixture, but as far as I know the VQ30DE's stuff is not manually adjustable)

All those gurus out there on the org , let me know if I got this stuff right. Thanx in advance, Eddie

There is no need to adjust the idle with the findanza. You may have to adjust your driving a tad but that is it. It takes a bit more throttle to not bog then with the stock flywheel. You may not even notice it.

Well I had the UR flywheel installed almost one year ago and haven't had any problems with it at all. She is purring like a kitten at 650rpm.

The VQ30 idle can be adjusted a couple of different ways:
1) air bleed screw on IACV
2) reposition TPS
3) throttle plate position screw

I've had the stillen lightweight flywheel installed for about 2 months now and haven't experienced that problem. Maybe just a bumpier idle..kinda shakes the car but very minimal.
Glad to hear your getting the stage 1 clutch. I got the stage 2 act clutch with 4 puck race disk. Very harsh engagement....had clutch chatter all the time when taking off. Just replaced the disk with a street disk last week. Hope the install goes good. Very easy now for us.

BRILLIANT! lol. I just wanted to get those doubts out of my head. I really don't enjoy surprises after doing something on my car. Thanks a million.
