problem with engine when coming to a complete stop...(vibrations..)

Really hard to describe the problem...but when I come to a complete stop, i hear sound coming from the engine (knocking, vibrating, something like that) and i feel it in my break pedal too....when i rev a little bit or put it in neutral, it stops....
i'm hoping someone here had this problem before....first i thought it was in the dash, but it's definitely coming from the engine somewhere...

could it be the knock senor? knocking? I don't know how it's supposed to sound...

or could my rpm's be too low? i'm around 500 when in gear....

please help, it's annoying.

Thanks,
Sam

i had the same problem, if your TB is dirty clean it, if it still its shaking at the stop raise the idle up to 750-800 in park. then u should be good to go.

I thought the computer controlled the idle?

there is a screw on the IACV, a large plastic one with a phillips head on it. Turn it counterclockwise to raise the idle, clockwise to lower it, pizda boy

Also turn off your AC and put your tranny in Nuetral to ensure it's the engine itself that is making the noise. Further diagnosis with a mechanic's stethoscope (really cheap, like $15 from an auto parts store) will help you figure it out.

At idle my engine seemed a little rough but turning off the AC smoothed it out, so now i know it's the AC that was causing the vibration.

it's still cold in jersey so um....no a/c turned on... it happens when i come to a stop...or if i'm in gear....i always thought that the idle might be a little low and i'll try to adjust that first.....

Could be the coil packs, but since your not a 99 it might not be it. I had the same symptoms with my failing coil pack.

I changed the spark plugs yesterday and it runs alot smoother now. I don't know if that would be enough to make you worried or not though.
Also FYI, idle speed for 1996 and later as per haynes: manual->525 to 625 RPM
