Topic says it all. Come to find out that the rubbing noise up front isn't my calipers sticking, it's b/c of my rotors. The kid before me must have abused them b/c I've only drive the car 3k miles and they were kinda doing it when I got it. Should I get new rotors or have my stocks turned/shaved. Any help is appreciated!

I would definately replace the rotors.. If your wallet can take the pain take this opportunity to up grade some components or the entire system, but at the very least replace the rotors and verify the calipers

I would not turn/re-surface them!

This will cost you like $15 per rotor.
Go to your local parts store and just get standard OEM blanks for $20 or so a piece. Done!

I got mine turned, and 1k miles later, they were warped again. The rotors are too thin to handle it. Just save your money and get new ones...it is only $5 more than turning them...

Some recommend rotors. Some don't. Some even say that the pads are a major reason rotors warp. I personally got mine resurfaced on my 00 recently because new ones are at least $50/piece (shipped across the net, vs. $65 for local OEMs). $15 per turning. I'll see how they last.

However, as mentioned above since 4th gen front rotors are only $20 for the cheaper ones i'd just buy those and not bother with turning.

BTW turning success also depends upon how much rotor is left. In my case there was quite a bit left and my warping was minor, but that's not really relevant here. Just get new

Sweet, I guess I'll just get some OEM blanks. Any suggestions about pads though? I'm not sure what kind for a Max are better/worse than other. I know what I used on my Civic, but I don't know if it's the same premise. Thanks guys!!!!!!

Get some new good quality rotors (OEM blanks) and Hawks or Nissan OEM brake pads. This should help you out. Not too bad on the wallet either. Good luck!
