tach wont go past 2k rpm

I disconnected my cluster and battery at the same time and now my tach wont work properly, dealer has no idea. What could be the problem?

Did you do anything under the hood? If so, check the connector on your MAF.

No i didnt, but its something wit the tach cause when i put in a different tach it works perfectly, just trying to figure out what went wrong and give a heads up to the others.

Check the fuses. Usually whentach doesn't pass 2000, it means MAF sensor. Try to put your old guage cluster in and see if it works again.

u mean the fuses under the steering column? Is it just called "MAF sensor" cause i dont think ive seen that before.

once again i dont think its anything with the car, i think its the actual cluster that got damaged by this, some electrician told me "its a nissan thing, if possible to fix, its gonna cost you more than buying a used one" so i just bought a used one and it works perfectly. Its something on the cluster itself.

No, I meant when the actual MAF sensor dies the car doesn't not go past 2000-2400

no the car worked fine both with old and new cluster, the car went past 2k, the cluster stopped at 2k and stays there till u stop. The new cluster goes all the way to 6.5k along with the car.
