hi everyone! somehow I missed this thread....yeah I found those pics on a website in korean selling samsung sm5 parts...the parts were incredibly cheap! WHen I used a currency convertor for the price in korean money, it was like 40 USD for the console! There were numerous other cool parts on the website as well....I tried to email them (using a free web based translation) but I never got a response. I can only assume the translation was gibberish! Unfortunately, my pc has been wiped since then, so I no longer have the address saved....Ive been searching google.com but havent come accross it yet....from what I remember, the website address has "sm5" in it and I found the site on google.com.....if anyone comes accross it let me know! Ive had that pic for over a year now....

That console looks exactly the same as the console in my Maxima The only difference is that it doesn't have that fancy lid, and it doesn't have the mentioned 12V DC plug or extra cup holder at the back. Later models may have came with those features though, I'm not sure though.

These Guys have LED tails that look like they would fit the MAX perfectly!

Also, what link is there between Nissan and Samsung Renault?

Renault is why Nissan still exists today. A few years ago Nissan was pretty much dead financially, but Renault brought some of Nissan as well as giving them some advice and now Nissan is doing very well. The new Maxima we have here has some style and technology imput from Renault, and Renault's new V6's will use the technology from Nissans VQ range.

Samsung is another company which Renault has shares in, which is why it's called Samsung Renault in Korea. The Nissan brand name does not exist in Korea, no idea why, maybe Korea has a thing against Japanese products?

There are some pretty cool parts on some of those sites, and although the titles are in English, all of the details seem to be in Korean...and I bet that shipping would be a b!+ch as well!

I just called the dealer. For the square plastic piece around the shifter (which is all I really need for right now) is $74.00. That is just for part of the console, let alone the whole thing. I guess I will fabricate something until somebody can speak Korean and hook it up with these guys.

This console lid will fit on the 95-96 OEM USDM console, as well as the 96-97 I30 USDM model.

Did anyone try to email them in just plain English? Maybe they have someone there that speaks english. We are going to give them money, we might as well let them do the leg work. Another point to make is that it is much more common for other countries to be bi-lingual than it is for americans to be. So there is a good chance that someone working for them speaks English. Just my 2 cents

bad news being shipping parts like this would be extremely expensive. unless someone is in the military based over there. then its a piece of cake. my mom and i have spoken to our relatives over there and there saying that shipping to america is very expensive at the moment. hope is not lost as my cousin is going to find out more about these businesses and see what he can do as far as bulk ship. ill find out soon from him. i should have went to korea this summer instead of ireland. oh well. next summer im going back to the homeland to be with my people. and then i will know for sure.

That is interesting about the shipping rate. I bought some bulbs off ebay from
Taiwan (I know this is not Korea, but its not that far) and the shipping wasnt bad. I know compared to a center console the bulbs arent heavy at all, but I mean, it couldnt be too much. Hell I'd even settle for my package to be on a boat as long as I know its coming.

They don't use Nissan name in Korea because the japs took a bunch of Koreans made them prostitutes and put them to work making tanks and heavy armor equipment used in the military during world war II.

I am in on that center console though. 40 bux sounds right on. I don't see it on those links though. That fsb looks good too, not like those cheap jobs on ebay.

Man I was looking at the sm5mall.com site, and they have a midpipe and strutbar that I'm drooling over, and they're like $20! The strut bar makes the Stillen jook like junk

I love that console. Looks like the 5th gens. $40 does seem cheap though. I would expect it to be at least $150 for everything if not more.
