Velocity Stack

Is it possible to add a velocity stack to an existing midpipe? If so what size would it need to be and where would i be able to get it?

Call stillen or JWT, and order a pop charger.

The JWT velocity stack fits on the MAF, so yeah, you can use it with a midpipe. That is my setup currently. The JWT support rod no longer works well in the new position so I just got some backstrap at home depot to support it.

You can find them at parts stores on-line. They have universal 3" velocity stacks(venturi ring) which is what you should get. I think JEGS or year one had them.

If you have a 3" filter already, you won't be able to use it with the JWT/Stillen part. It uses a very wide diameter filter. If you don't want the theoretical advantages of a velocity stack, you can just get an adapter to attach the filter to the MAF. You can get one at Summit RAcing for about $16. You may need to drill holes though for proper MAF fitment.

Go to JWT's site or Stillen's site. You won't be able to use whatever filter you have. I believe the "popcharger" costs $125 and is sometimes seen used for $60-75.

Personally, I think intakes are like cat-backs...way overrated. You do it because you like to mod or like the sound.

Ditto for the Maxima, the intake system isn't that restrictive to start with and being NA as well, there just isn't that much to gain from an upgraded intake, unless your current OEM filter is dirty and the TB is very dirty, don't expect much except added noise. You might feel a slight difference if any.

with my jwt i can tell alittle differance, not from a stand still as much, but on the highway i get much better pick up without down shiftering from 5th. I think it was worth the money for my cause i got mine for $50 and i did feel little gains. But yes intakes are way over rated and i would never purchase one of $125 or more.

if you have the adaptor which is the stack. i think you are looking for a mid-pipe.
