Fog Lamp Bulbs How To Change?
#2
It's relatively easy. Take a phillips head and pop that black cover off, then use a 10mm socket wrench and undo the two bolts that hold the housing in. Pop the fog light assembly out and disconnect the wire harness. twist the black cap on the back of the harness and pop that off, then if you look inside there is a female plug connected, that is the ground. there is also a paperclip like thing holding the light in. just compress that and slide it out of its notch, and it should swing up, and the bulb will come out.

when u put the fog light housing back into the bumper, make sure u get it in right. If u look on the opposite side where the bolts are u will see a little piece sticking out make sure u get taht back into the little hole, i had to replace one of my fogs yesterday and i was having trouble getting that little piece in!

All you need is a phillips head screwdriver for it all.
I mean, once you get that little piece of black plastic off, you can just use the screwdriver for the bolts too. Then, just twist the black part of the back of the housing, and it will come out. Then, you have to unplug the clip for the lights.
Then, undo the little paper clip looking thing like a safety pin. Push it down and then over to the side. Then, swing it back and you should have the fog bulb in your hand. You will have to pull back a sheath covering to get to the actual part where it plugs in.
Reverse steps and you are done.
**NOTE: I would wrap the wires when you get it back in there with electrical tape. Just seems to help everything.**

ok so I struggled and struggled.
I ended up getting the left in but I could not for the life of me get to the housing bolts to take out the fog on the right side. So I tried getting the light apart while it was still attached. Somehow after straining and flexing that damn grill down and the weather guard away, I was able to install the new light in there. BUT, I couldn;t line it up because I had very limited visualization of the way the bulb sits. I tried rotating it until I felt it give but I nver felt it. So I just reclasped the retainer clip and put everything back together. The lights work but the right side is clearly angled up so it's not sitting properly. I should mention that they are the OEM fogs that were installed AFTER I bought the car. does this make any difference?
thanks.

First of all he doesn't have any black plastic on his lights. You guys are just messing him up. With the 95-96 there is a clear plastic strip on the lights toward the center of the bumper. You slide them up and pull it out. After that there are 2 10mm(I think) bolts that you take out. After that just take out the light. If it's not straight you can just pull the bracket with your hand to line it up.
