Tune-up

It seems like it's time to get my relatively new to me Maxima, with 90k miles on it, a tune up. I've begun to experience some hard starts, etc.
Anyone recommend having additional work done on top of what the manual suggests around this mileage?
If so, what should I expect to pay?

problaby alot unless you do it youreslf....nobody around here gets it done from a shop or dealership, most people just tackle it on their own, if you do all tha tadditional stuff, should cost you $15 using ngk coppers and intake cleaner

Honestly bro, do the tune up yourself, the Max is very friendly for tune-ups, nothing is complicated. Get the Haynes manual if you need help (about $18 at Advance Auto Parts).

Do the NGK platinums, clean the throttle body w/ Throttle Body Cleaner, change the fuel, oil, and air filters. Change the oil (synthetic, Mobil 1 or Redline are the best ones). Check if any of the belts and hoses need replacement. Flush the cooling system and put fresh new coolant in there (I recommend adding Redline WatterWetter, it doesn't make a difference on the Max, since the computer will make the motor run at its regualr temperature either way, but it's just cheap insurance to me, $8 for a bottle). For Extras, if you have a 5-spd, I'd recommend upgrading the gear oil to Mobil Synthetic GL4 (about $45 at any Mobil service station), or to Redline's equivalent (I think it's MT90, I might be wrong). Hope this helps, Eddie.

Use NGK coppers, not platinums. They are a third of the cost, and they are better conductors. You do have to replace them every 30k miles, but it is worth it.

Can I pick up the fuel/air/oil filters at an auto parts store, or do I need to get them from a dealership?

I get mine from Autozone.
I use STP for oil filters.....not Fram...I have heard bad things about them.
I just put a Bosche fuel filter in Saturday.
Air filter, just buy a $45 K&N filter, and you can reuse it and just clean it out.
