Have any of you had a low clicking sound from the A/C fan motor. It's coming from under the glove compartment. The sound does not always happen. Today was fine, yesterday it was happening. It sound like the fan blades are clipping the motor housing. Any of you have any suggestions.

I have the same problem with my A/C. Even when you have it on "1" and on Cool, it still does it. It sounds like a constant clicking sound. It comes from almost all the vents in the front. It has been doing this for about 6 months now. Anyone know the symptom and the cure?

Perhaps some foreign matter has found its way into your heater duct. A bit of paper, a leaf fragment, a scrap of cellophane. It may be rubbing against the blower cage and making a clicking sound, something like the child's trick of clipping a playing card to the bicycle fork to make it "click" on the passing spokes. The remedy is to remove the blower motor and clean out the duct. If you remove the motor and find no trash in the duct, the effort is not wasted. You can bench test the motor and lube it or replace it.

If your Maxima is still under warranty your dealer might be sympathetic.

Re: Clicking

Hey Guys,
Just got my 99 Max6 months ago, had the same clicking noise when the AC was on. Sounded like it was coming from the front right around the glove box, took it to dealer, they told me it was some sort of problem with the passenger side vent, Nissan actually knew about this problem and made a piece to go in the vent to stop the noise...of course not covered under warranty, but I *****ed and they did it anyways for free....well, for a few days it seemed to work fine but now about 4 months later it's back....so I don't know what the hell it could be this time. Hope this helps someone....

heys guys I had the same problem and come to find after thinking it was leaves stuck in the vents or somewhere found out it was the blower motor that was bad. Since having it replaced I never had the problem again.
