Best Spark Plugs For Performance??

I am about to replace my stock spark plugs and I was wondering which spark plugs are the best to buy for the wallet and for performance. Any personal experiences would be nice too. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I would recommend going with the NGK coppers. They are better conductors and a third the cost of the plats. You have to replace the coppers every 30k miles though. That is not that bad.

really jeff?
I have always read and been told every 30k.

It is just difficult with the plats, because they are like $12/ea.

Since these aren't OEM and aren't recommended in the Nissan FSM, change intervals are a guess. Coppers in my old Nissans(non-maxima) have only lasted maybe 15k. Copper is a good conductor but I don't know what the coils do to the electrodes etc......

So unless one has actual experience with maybe dyno runs to back it up, it's difficult to really "advise" a change interval. Maybe I'm wrong too. Dunno....

All I know, is I've run plats for 60k and they have held up VERY well.

I just changed mine and went with the platinums. I don't see why anyone would go with the copper. It's not going to run any better, and its going to cost you the same in the end when you have to change them three times in the same time as one set of plats cost, not to mention the time spent on the work.

NGK Plats are the OEM and whats recommended. Also They have a longer life. I honestly doubt you feel the slight increase in performance on the coppers.

However they are cheaper.

ORielly's Auto parts and ADVANCED AUTO PARTS sell the NGK's PLATS OEM for 9.99

I just picked up a set and were only talking 60 bucks for 60,000 miles?

Sounds like a great deal to me considering you will be changing those coppers every 15-20k.

Time is money.

half hour...an unpleasant half hour. The front three are no problem, the back are just annoying. Not hard, just annoying.

But why not do it every 60k instead of every 20k?

Use NGK Coppers BKR5E-11 at Napa for $1.12 each. Copper is a better conductor of electricity and the platnums are simply plated copper plugs. Coppers should be changed every 30k or so while with Plats you can go 60k.

Coppers give better performance and cost 1/10 that of the platnums. Nissan designed the engine around NGK plugs, don't use anything else.

I would not say they are 1/10th the cost, but they are usually about 1/3rd the cost of the platinums.
