Clips on top of coil packs and plugs.....

When I went to change the spark plugs this past weekend, I could only do the first one without taking the little sensor harness plug off of the coil packs (I assume that is what the little pack with the tube that goes down into the spark plug hole is.).

Does anyone know how to take off the little sensor harness without breaking them? I just know that they are plastic, and they will break easily. I just wanted to get some info and opinions on how to do this. I usually know how to get those things apart.

Please post a detailed description about how to do so.
Thanks,

I know all about coil packs and changing spark plugs, but what exactly are you talking about? I don't quite follow. You pull out the coil pack and boom, there's the spark plug, unscrew it and you're done. What little sensor harness? You mean the plug for a coil pack?

its like a spring loaded button. just push the button in and then pull up, the trick is that the button has to be pushed all the way in or it will not come out. once you do it one time it will all make sense. and it does take a little effort compressing the button.

Yeah, that is what I am talking about, BOSS.
I guess I will just have to mess with it a little more.
The only reason I want to do this is because I don't want to put strain on those wires for the coil packs.

Just did mine the other day. I have over 175,000 miles on the car, so you could say that things might be a little on the brittle side from heat and age. They did not break when I pushed in the plastic retaining clip(located on top of the connector that plugs into the coil/it has some ribbing on top of it for better grip). It will make a CLICK sound when it has been pushed in enough to release the connection from the coil. You will have to push fairly hard for a piece of plastic. After you hear the CLICK just pull it out of the coil connector. The the coil is metal underneath the black plastic where it mounts to the valve cover so dont worry too much about snapping a coil off there. I would say there is a very small chance of them breaking around the connectors.

Hope it helps.
