intake

Ever since i bought this peice of **** 25 dollar cone from pepboys i have had nothing but problems, obviously a service engine soon light, and some trans problems. I'm looking to get rid of this because i know it cant be good for the car and so far I have looked at a Stillen high flow air intake kit which is about 175 then a injen cold air intake for around 275, which is better for the car / performance? I need to figure this out soon! thx for any help

Get the Place Racing Cold Air Intake. It is the O.G. cold air intake for the Maxima, and the only true cai available thats not a knock off. (The Injen is not a real cai) Hence, the air filter is placed in the driver's side fender. Get it. It sounds great and gives great low end power. Great for 4th gen auto's like myself which is lag prone.

Where can i find this place racing intake at, and do you find it to be totally worth it to put a hole in the fender?

just get one off of ebay. It's a knock-off but it works the same. I have one and I'm very satisfied. Can't think of an intake working better than this one. And yes it is worth poking a whole in the fender. If you're auto, i'd advise you to get it. If not then i don't think it'd matter. Cold air works better at the low-end part, HAI is opposite which works at the high-end. Don't pay too much for an intake unless you're making it into a show car. Read the mod faqs and click on MaxMods.org at the bottom of my sig for more info.

I agree, get the BOMZ CAI or something similar off of EBAY. They should run you around $60 something with shipping included. They have powdercoated and polished its a real good deal and does the same thing that the others do, just without the name. And don't forget that you can purchase another filter if you need to. The one that comes with the BOMZ is a little small. Hope this helps you save some money.
