anyone here install 9004 upgraded harness?

Has anyone here installed the 9004 upgraded headlight harness? I just bought a set and it looks fairly straight foward, but I am still posting just incase there are any tips out there. Are there any write-ups? Anything to beware of?

Thanks

Any information on how much the 9004 upgraded headlight harness is? Where to get it and what type or brand of bulb to use?

Thanks

I got mine from eBay, but haven't installed it. It was $8.99 + s/h.

Hey, Jatan

The harness you got from ebay, I saw a couple of hardness there. What's brand you purchased? Let me know the result of the installation. I want to
put a bit more lights on the headlights too.

I think SouthWestAutoworks sells one for pretty cheap. I have heard pretty good things about theirs.

Are there any problems with running the higher wattage bulb in the same housing. I know that the harness will not melt with the upgraded harness, but what about the housing cracking. I know that when you do the rewire of the corner lights, and make the bulb run hotter(higher wattage) there have been incidents of the housing cracking or melting or becoming misshapened. Any experience with this?

I bought this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710 but I won't be installing them anytime soon. Probably in a month or so.

Some people have bought the real upgrade harnesses from suvlights.com and they haven't had a problem. These come with new wiring and relays and stuff.

I did the bright corner light mod and mine is fine so far. If my headlight does crack, it'll give me a reason to buy the 97-99 ones I'll probably get HIDs when I get the 97-99 headlights.

Tort, which one did you buy?

That Nokya harness is the same one I have. Ive been using it for close to a year with no problems. Im using Nokya artic whites.
One thing to remember when you plug it in, match the wires up exactly the way they come out of the stock plug to the exact way they come out of the upgraded harness. You will not be able to match up the colors from the stock harness to the upgraded one because they are different.

Thats not a true upgraded headlight harness. Thats really just a new plug. A real harness has relays and connects directly to the battery. But if you guys are having luck with them, thats a good thing. I know ppl are melting the plug and not the wiring so I guess this is all you need. I made a 12 awg harness with relays and whatnot and I liked it, but it sucked to install. Thess new plugs should be cake.

Yeah that harness looks like half of what I got. My harness has direct connections to the battery as well as relays as well. I paid $20 cdn for it off of another org member.
