engine knocking

engine knocking

My engine knocks when I stop at a signal and the geer in on drive. When I shift to N or P, the knocking stops. How can I get rid of this problem.

Sounds like one of your pistons has too much clearance and is hitting the side walls of your cylinder...yea you can get rid of it...take it in2 a shop and get it checked out....

try gas that does not have water or some 91+ octane.

I also experience the same issue with my car. I have had it in for a full tune up with no success. Just returned from dealer and they had extreme difficulty in diognosing the problem. It was suggested that two of the O2 Sensors were not performing at the level needed. Of course they did not have them in stock. There was no guarantee that this is the problem. If no resolved, it may the be the coils.

Same thing happened with me when i first bought my car. Right off the bat i started using 93 octane gas, but the owners before i dont think used 93, so it took a full tank of gas for my computer to get use to higher octane. What kind of gas are you using??
