MUFFLER for MAXIMA

Hey everyone. I'm looking to get a 'good looking' muffler, ( ahve stock right now, and cant get exchaust because my bottom is rusted and can end up costing more then just install). Anyways, I found 2 ones I like:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT
and
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT

My questions, will these fit on 4th gen max? Is install hard?

Everything except a semi muffler with fit on a max, if you have a welder. If not an exhaust shop can slap it on for about $60. I don't suggest those. If resonated properly they will sound alright but will never be a deep and nice as a full/real catback. I started modding my exhaust in the way your thinking and regret it everyday. I have spent at least $500 on my custom setup that doesn't sound very good. I definitely suggest saving yourself the time and later regret and doing it the right way the first time. Can anyone say SP-2.

I dont really need it to sound anything but stock, just want it to look better then rusted out stock one. If anything, i'd just get a silencer for it. So no, i dont want it to sound like a little ricerocket, just look nice and clean (also a reason why i picked those 2 looking ones, and not some double sh*t ones)

The dynomax super turbo makes a nice muffler, they are very cheap from Jegs.com too only like 44$ shipped. Alittle louder than stock. Sounds very nice though

If you just want it to sound like stock, just go and get a 3" tip or something and have it welded onto the stock outlet. That would be a lot easier.

Why can't you get a whole new exhaust system because it is rusted out? I mean, this would sound like you have more reason to get one, to replace the rusted one.

if all you want are looks then yea just get a tip from like stillen. But from the looks of thoes knock off's they are gonna cause more problems at the end. Prolly even more rust. The cheap way out isn't always the best way it could end up costing more in the end. Thoes mufflers you found on ebay prolly sound really bad too.

Its not really the exhaust that is rusted, but bolts around it and metal around bolts. I asked my mechanic, can I do anything with car (like Y-pipe or new exchaust system), and he told me, sure you can, but by looking at your car from the bottom, I wouldnt, since its rusted out and if something breaks, you might have to spend alot more money to fix it. So since i'm low on budget, but still make it look nice (dont really need more power), i decided to get new tip (since, like i said, stock one rusted out). Thanks for your input

That makes no since that you won't do any exhaust mods because it is rusting. Please explain your viewpoint more thouroughly because I think I'm misunderstanding. First, why is your car so rusty if you live in Cali? Is cupertino in the norhtern part in the mountains or something? Second, if you want it to sound like stock, replace it with stock. Finally, a y-pipe is certainly not expensive and any idiot mechanic that tells you that it will be expensive to weld on a new exhaust bracket needs to pull the stick out of his @ss. My overall recomendation is to disregaurd what the mechanic said and post some pics of your undercarriage so we can help you decide. After seeing that it is mild and not detrimental rust, as the mechanic suggested, I would recommend a budget y paired with a budget race/test pipe and an SP-2.
