Air Temperature Sensor

I pulled the code and it said it was the air temp sensor. Will this make my max idle really low. At a stop light it idles between 100-500 rpm's. Unlike normal when it idles between 1300-2000 rpm's depending on temp.

have you recently put in an intake? the sensor is on the otom side of the down pipe of the stock intake right before the air goes int o the box. make sure the connector is in the socket real good. if not get a new one and put it in yourself. very easy

Automatic: cold idle should be about 1200rpms, normal idle in gear should be around 600-700rpms, neutral should be around 500-600rpms.

5 speed: cold idle should be around 1100-1200rpms, normal idle should be around 500-600rpms.

The temp sensor will not make the car idle really low. A bad temp sensor will throw a code. The temp sensor must be in a stream of moving air or it will get poor readings and possibly cause the car to run rich, get lower mpgs, and possibly affect performance.
