Moving Question

im going to be moving across country. My question is will my 95 maxima with 170000 miles be able to tow a 3500 lbs uhaul. pleases let me know soon

Yes there is no reason why not so long as you take it very very easy. The tranny is the worry.

Here is what I replied with....


You could probably get the Max to tow 3500lbs, but then you have to worry about stopping. Once you get going it will be VERY hard (if not impossible) to get the Max to stop quickly. You will probably jack-knife. Towing capacity is more dependant on vechicle weight than power. 3500lbs is way too much for the Max. Also if you plan to tow DO NOT use Overdrive. You will kill your auto tranny that way.


If you plan on driving like 5 or 10mph all the way across country then go for it.

After more thought and reading that thread Id agree with you. Its not the best idea but I'd say its not impossible. I dont know.
