B&G induction cleaning

It really works. A friend of mine swapped out his intake manifold for a powdercoated one. He told me he did the B&G induction cleaning a few days ago. I have seen intake manifold from maximas with 30K miles up to 100K+ miles. You can't believe the build up around the EGR port. Anyway, his looked like new. You don't see any black gunk at all. I'm going to try it on my maxima.

I had that done on my other Max and it felt like my car gained some power. It smoothed out the idle. It sure did blow out a lot of black smoke!!!

I recommend it!!!!

I sprayed the hell out of my manifold and scraped the crap out with a screwdriver. You do have to send it out to have this done right?

Sorry if I didn't clarify. He had the BG service done few days prior to the manifold swap. I had an opportunity to see what it looked like off the car. I believe you can get the service done at your Goodyear auto service center and various independent shops. It's similar to seaform but they have this machine that make sure the engine doesn't hydro lock.

The 4X4 stuff works really well, I just added it to my gas tank; my mpg went from 25 to 27 mpg on the highway. I drive a lot and always check my gas milage. My max has... 184k on it right now.

My dealer charges $129 to have this done, IMO it's well worth it. I had this done on a previous car and the difference was night and day!

Hi 1max2nv;

It has been about 35,000 miles since we had the EGR cleaning thread, and I think it is about time for me to go back in and clean the EGR plumbing.

I think this sounds like it could do a better job of cleaning the whole system out rather than just the EGR pipes and the port on the intake where the EGR plumbing attaches to the intake manifold.

I now have 220,000 miles on my Maxima, and I am very interested in hearing the results of this. I am anxious to do this cleaning as well, because although I don't have any check engine lights, I am starting to feel hesitation from a dead stop.

I have changed the fuel filter, replaced NGK plugs, cleaned the K&N air filter, but having had this apart and seeing how black and dirty the inside of the intake manifold, egr plumbing, etc. can get, if you have found something that safely cleans this up, I am really excited about it!

Thanks,

white96maxse

Bg Induction Service!!! Woot!

Got this service done and afterwords I checked my CEL and had the 0302 still and then had multiple cylinder misfire and a knock sensor error....these were caused cause of the service when it runs through the system....ANYWAYS I cleared it and now 4 days later no check engine light for the 0302 which I have had for almost a year and the performance is awesome...what a change...also this improves gas mileage.....anyone with a 0302 get this service ASAP and then reset ur light and thats all ya need to do =)

And the knock sensor and multiple cylinder misfires were pending errors when I checked them at autozone..those just go away when u reset and shouldn't come back....the dealer usually clears these themselves but since my CEL was already on when I brought it in they didn;t do that.

Also stealership told me BEFORE i got this done that this usually doesn't do anything for the 0302 code and that usually u just need a new egr valve....dont listen to them cause it has worked for other ppl and it worked for me!

$140 is the cost but u might be able to get it for less....it is WELL worth it.

I guess it depends how bad your car needs it....if there is a lot of build up it is probably better to get the bg service done at the stealership...I think in mosty cases the actual stealership cleaning is better cause they hoook it up to a comp to make sure ur engine doesn't *** up and it does go through your system a lot faster, throughly and with less mess but it is up to you.

It's meant to be used with BG machine. Without it, you could try but your risking hydro locking your engine. I just finish putting my car back on the road so I'll get this service done in the next couple of weeks.
