The whistle is normal. My injen does the same thing but only at low RPM. I don't even hear it unless I have my window rolled down and my stereo off. It bothered me at first but now it has grown on me.

I get the whistle as well. Sometimes it's quite annoying, sometimes I will just thorttle the gas on and off to hear it whistle almost like a BOV. I'd say its normal, because even with the whistle I felt a very nice gain from the intake, so I figured everything was fine.

Every maxima I've ever owned or ridden in that had an intake had the whistle. But I wouldn't go as far as to say it sounds like a bov. It's more just anoying enough that people think the reason I beat them is that it's turbo. I hate the whistle

Ditto. I like to play with the pedal sometime to get a melody out of it.

(I have and injen CAI) I was like you guys. I liked the sound at first, but now that it is getting nice out and I drive with the windows down the whistle more annoying than driving behind a 90 yr old short lady who has her directional on for the last 45 streets. (Sorry about the stupid comparrison) Does anyone know how to fix this. The past replies didnt say how to fix if just if people liked it or not. Now with my exhaust on I want to hear that instead of a bird that could be stuck in my intake.... I should check and see if there is a bird in there!!!! (Stranger things have happened)

Even on my 5th gen, i have the same problem. i've had my injen cai on now for about a year and it's gotten worse, but it's grown on me. i've checked everything out and it seems fine. i actually did have someone ask if i had a turbo in my car b/c of the cai. he said he liked the sound even though it's N/A.
