What is a ''Ghost'' code and how to put resistor instead of KS to test it ?

Hey guys, sorry second post tonight. The other KS posts kinda got me thinking.

- What is the ''ghost'' code everyone talks about ? Is it only because the check engine light doesnt come on and you have to check it manually ?

- What's involved in putting a resistor instead of a KS to kinda check it, drive it without ? I seem to remember seeing the procedure somewhere but I'm not sure...

thanks

Yes, a ghost code is a code that doesn't trip the CEL.

KS explanation:

how to bypass with resistor:

my personal opinion: just spend $90 and get a new knock sensor off ebay.

The KS was changed about 2 months ago, it seemed to improve a bit after the install but now seems to be back where I was... I just want to make sure this would not be the problem...
