OBX Catback: Type B v. Type H
OBX Catback: Type B v. Type H
I'm curious to know what the difference between the Type B and Type H OBX Catback is. How do they sound? I've been trying to get the Apex WS catback but it's been discontinued. I can't justify spending $500+ on the Greddy SP2 either. The OBX is incredibly cheap for stainless steel but I want to know about sound. I want something quiet under normal operation but deep-toned when I punch it. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I have the OBX-H cat back on my 95, just put it on about 300 miles ago. Unfortunately, I also put in a test pipe, and warpspeed y-pipe, so I'm not 100% sure how much is due to the cat back.
It looks pretty nice hanging off the back, though I must admit is a bit ricey. Through normal revving, with low engine loud, its a dull groan, which is pleasing to the ears. When you open it up, thing screams with hell fire. Also, I really like it because it is quiet on the highway (which I do quite a bit of highway driving), you can barely hear it, and with the radio on, you'd never even notice it. Overall, for the $530 I paid for full exhaust (ypipe + test pipe + cat back) I am very pleased. Everything lined up great, sounds nice, and looks pretty good too.
