Painted 2001 GLE Rims and Calipers

Just finished everything and thought people would want to take a look:

http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...elected=864259

It's another option as far as rims go. Stock build quality/structural integrity, nice looks and something different then everyone else. It took two weeks to finish because of uncooperative weather and the fact that the Nissan OEM finish is ****IN insane. All told I spent maybe $60 for everything. Let me know what you think.

Looks good, but I'm going to have to say I don't like it with your color car. White and black, yes, but with that color it doesn't do it for me. Good work though.

The graphite color is all right, but the red does not go with the pebble beige.

I love the way the wheels look though. I was wondering about doing something like this myself, and what it would look like on those exact wheels, but you did it for me. Nice job on all of the paint.

What paint did you use where?

I am curious because I just did my calipers too.

I don't know if it would look right on sawblades. It might just look really good though. They are cheap, and I am sure you could always just polish them back off if you really don't like them.

Looks great, I am planning doing this too over the summer because my rims are in really bad shape.

Great Job!

I was thinking of using my Dad's 00 gle wheels instead of mine to paint b4 I started bc they look bigger. But I wasn't sure if it would look sporty or not. I gotta say I am impressed, looks great dude.

thanks everyone! the paint is DupliColor Wheel Paint and clearcoat. you can find it at most autozone stores or online.

just make sure that you do a very good job of stripping all of the paint. Aircraft stripper works well for the paint and NAPA paint and decal stripper works really well for the primer.

is using aircraft stripper necessary? can you paint over the old paint as long as the surface is clean?

Looks good! Great job. BTW, did you paint the back of the rim as well? Most people just paint the front.

Some of the Duplicolor stuff has a temp of 1200. That is what I used on my calipers.
