Homelink Programming Instructions

Hi, Ill also be putting this into the General forum because Homelink is also available on 5th and 6th gens so maybe ill get more answers.

I live in an apt building with a basement garage, the ****** here offer a remote for $36 a year plus $36 programming surchache in the first year, this is on top of my rent and $100 a month garage fee. I thought it be a wise investment to get me a homelink visor and F everybody.

I got me some visors with homelink, now i gotta program them to open the door. Im tired of getting out everytime to open the door and running back to the car and making it before the door shuts, i mean it gets the chicks laughing when i bring them home but when im bringing them home, thats not the entertainment i have in mind. Plus when it rains it a biotch, point in case, i need the instructions, thanks in advance.

you will need a remote that operates the door opener to program the homelink.....with out a coded door opener ....no go.....I can tell you how to program for the diff systems but you will still need a remote to start the process...

ok heres the deal....... hold the 2 outside buttons on the home link...until the light starts to flash... then push the button you want to program and the remote button.... try to keep the remote a few inchs away from the homelink.... the flashing should change....... indicating that the homelink has the remotes code..... now the part that screws most people up.... if the door opener is a rolling code type opener.... you still have to program the homelink to the door opener.... normally all you have to do is find and push the button on the door opener.... the program light comes on and you push the button on the homelink.... done..... if the opener is the old style with dip switches you don't have to program to the door opener....just coping the remote works on the old style
