ok, i lost BOTH set of keys to my car. My car is parked on the street and I hope it doesn't get towed. Will the dealer make me a key at the dealership or do I have to wait a few weeks? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

if you have your vin and can prove it's your car, the dealer can make you a new one. how'd you lose both sets?!? i'm sure you'll say if i knew how or where, then we wouldn't have a problem...but both sets? just wondering man, not poking fun.

lol, well, if you drink as much as i do, you get pretty forgetful. lol it was weird, i couldv'e sworn i had them in my coat pocket. but nothing, backtracked and everything,,,but nothing. i'm going to wal-mart tommorow and buying those key rings that snap onto your belt loops on your jeans. SO the dealer WILL make me a copy right there IF i can prove to them it's my car? I got all the paperwork PLUS I bought the car there last april.

yeah, you shouldn't have any problems.
Just take them the VIN.
Also, I would only get one key right now from the stealership and then order one from redlinemax.com later. I think they are like $20 cheaper. I assume you are talking about the chip keys, right?

Jepht, you are bustin' on me today. ha ha
I honestly didn't know 99's only had those keys. That sucks. I like the idea behind it, but they are like $65 to replace. I wish I just had a regular key.

lucky you. I mean you lost your keys, so that sucks, but you're still lucky. Why? Because if you had a 99, like the rest of us, you'd end up paying waaaaaaaaaay more than whatever you will/did.

You would be paying for having someone open your door, PLUS a rough estimate of about $200-300 for the dealer to program your ignition again, without having any of the original keys with chips in them.

Anyway, best of luck!
