Connecting iPod to Bose headunit

Has anyone been able to connect an iPod (or any other mp3 player) up directly to their factory Bose headunit (i.e. using the CD changer input)? I'm currently using an FM modulator to play my iPod through the car stereo and the sound quality is horrible. I've spent the last hour looking for some kind of adapter for the Bose headunit that will allow for an AUX input but haven't had any success. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You can get a headphone-tape adapter... That might work well.....

Maybe get a better FM Modulator or even (gasp) get rid of the bose?

Yep, I use the tape adapter and mount the ipod in the pop-out ash tray (You ned to remove the ashtray insert). Fits perfect and sounds great!
