Strange Problem, code 1005, ECU???

I failed emissions a few weeks ago in my 96 because of my check engine light. I pulled the code 1005 (EGR Solenoid) and 0804 (A/T Control Unit, I have M/T). Since then I have done many things trying to get rid of the code. I have replaced the solenoid, cleaned the EGR intake port, cleaned the Intake and Throttle body, cleaned IACV, checked ECU connection, used seafoam through brake booster, and checked EGR valve. I am really at a loss here as to what is causing this light. The only thing I can think of now is my JWT ECU that i put in about 2 years ago. At the time I installed the JWT I already had a CEL so I didn't notice if that caused it to come on. At the time I didn't care because emissions then was just a simple tailpipe check and the car drove fine. If anyone has any ideas please post them.

Did you try resettting the ECU?

are you getting 0804 as well at 1005? and who told you it was the harness? and the harness as in the harness that plugs into the ECU or the wires as they are distributed throughout the car. I read some TSB that said something about a section of wires becoming exposed. I haven't dug very deeply into it but I may now.

well i had my efi harness spliced but that problem was fixed. it is the harness that is located in the upper left hand part of the engine bay sitting below the windshield. i can get pictures up later on. a mechanic that fixed all my problems such as the suggested egr valve, egr solenoid, changed the hoses running to the valve, and knock sensor told me this. the stupid car throws off the 1005 code but he told me that nissan has known about a problem in the section of the harness that i am describing to you. i trust the guy and no i am not getting error code 0804, but believe me 1005 is a killer code to fix.

I think there is a TSB about this, is it the part of the harness located on the passenger side (right side) of the engine bay? Is your problem fixed now? If so how did he fix it?

yes it is where you think it is. and no i did not fix it because it is almost a good amount to what the value of the car is. when i eventually come to the point in which i need to fix it i will. my guy told me to replace it when i wanted to but until then the light will be on.
