Ordering Tokico Kit

After many weeks of researching the different setups available to lower the Maxima I finally decided to go with the Tokico kit. I plan to order this kit tomorrow. Before I go ahead and order this kit, is there any last minute imput you guys have on this kit that would change my mind? I am looking for a nice low drop, and plan to add a bodykit or lip in the future. Am I making the right decision? Sorry if I sound like a noob but when it comes to suspension I am. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It is not a low, LOW drop, but it will more than do the trick for good handling and improved looks, and it should still be fine for a bodykit down the road because it does not slam the car.

Get the dustboots, if they are not already included.

NO regrets, I've driven a couple different lowered cars(ie. not maximas) and I still am the best riding.

Agreed, I love my Tokico kit!
Drop looks great, ride height is even, ride is comfy enough, and handling is greatly improved.
You're going to love it!

What tools do you have available? My brother-in-law and I got mine done in about 3 hrs, including a lunch break. I'd never done any suspension work, and he'd never touched an import in his life (redneck). It went pretty smooth. Just make sure you pay attention to how it comes apart! That'll give you a lot better idea of how to put it back together, than trying to read exploded diagrams (although they do help as well). Good luck, and enjoy!

Get a Haynes or Chiltons, and ask around about the tools that you will need. Off hand, i know you need a floor jack, jack stands, spring compressors, breaker bar, metric sockets, and some tools to take apart the trunk liner.

If you have 60K plus, I would replace the strut bearings while I was in there as well. I would also wrap my springs with coil wrap..

I have most of those tools except for the spring compressor, but I can rent that at autozone. Strut bearings? Where can I get those, and how much are they? Is it really necessary to change them? Thanks

If you don't change your strut bearings now, you will have to do it sometime anyway. They are little plastic bearing plates that sit between the front strut mount and the strut/spring assembly. They allow the assembly to turn when you turn the car. When they are worn out, you'll hear a mild "clunking" noise when turning the wheels at low speeds. If you buy aftermarket strut mounts (like monroe or other OE spec, don't buy KYB I've heard they're noisy), they will come with the bearing plates. Otherwise, you might be able to buy just the bearings alone from the stealership???
Good luck!
