Suggestions for best smooth lowering spring? (don't want a harsh ride)

Wife is currently driving our '97 Maxima, but once I get her truck up and running good again she'll be back in that and I'll probably be driving the Maxima, at which point I'll probably look to do some suspension mods. I'm looking to lower it a little bit, but don't want an exceptionally harsh ride.. I've got a modified '91 300ZX TT for that... ^_^

Anyway, just curious with all the springs out on the market, what people tend to recommend? I've got Eibachs on my Z, and Suspension Technique springs on my 200sx... but I have NO idea what to buy for my Maxima. I'd like a nice performance spring, might autox a little, but don't want an overly harsh ride.

Thanks,

ummmm. anything will be harher than stock, but I hear H&Rs are smooth. I don't own them though. All I can really tell you is not to buy Sprints if you want a smooth ride.

H&R's are what everyone recommends for the smoothest ride with some drop. It also makes a lot of difference what struts you choose. Illuminas are supposed to be the most comfortable, but probably overkill with the H&R's.
YOu could probably just pair them up with KYB GR2's like stated above.

i have the eibachs and they ride pretty nice not too hard just firm enough. you still even get a bounce if you push them down.i personally prefer a smooth steady ride than a hard low ride thats why i choose them.

Smoothest ride is H&R with Tokico Illuminas, or with Tokico HP struts, if you are on a tight budget.

I have a pair of H&R springs and they seem to be pretty smooth on the ride. They quite a bit softer than the eibachs on the 300.

I've gotten a pair of eibachs on my 300zx(RIP), they were too low for my taste(always hit speed humps and bumps with those things). It funny how much an inch matters.

I have H&R and GR2 i am about to install it. i heard great thing about this set up. How does H&R and GR2 compare to H&R and Adjustable struts such as AGX and Illuminas.

Thanks

i hear that koni yellows out perform the Illuminas in handing and comfort but to put them on, u gotta modify something. That's why Illuminas are most recommended. I have Illuminas with Tein S Tech and I think the ride's great. I give it a so in ur (KaZ) case, I'd say get the Koni Yellows with H&Rs but if u don't wanna go through the hassle of modifying things then just get the Illuminas. Either way, you'll be happy.

I own H&Rs and Illuminas and they are too soft for me, Eibachs and Illuminas should b a great combination, you can always adjust them u know.

Thx for the replies... when the time comes, I'll most likely get the H&Rs along with some Tokico Blues or KYB GR2s... Adjustables are justifiable for the Z... but not the Maxima. ^_^

i read the info on the AGX's and it says they are real harsh in cold weather. i live in Minnesota so do you think i should go with the Illunia's instead then? Also, i'm either getting the Eibachs or the H&R's what u think would be best considering i live in a cold climate? IF that affects it at all
