i was looking on the custommaxima.com website they have a 98 max dynoed with just a ecu upgrade which i thought was not avalible for the 98 and 99 maxima this brings me to the question if it can be done on a 98 can it be done on a 99 and if someone knows what they do IE air/fuel rev limiter ect.....

PS i know most will say as soon as the see the topic NOOB but oh well

 

well.. first off, i MIGHT be wrong but from what i have heard....98-99 maximas can all have ECU upgrades...the only thing is that you have to get ahold of a 97 ECU and chip that and THEN put it in your 98-99....and even then it will work and the gains will be there but you will have a CEL...

again i might be mistaken, anyone feel free to correct

 

i've heard this also but why would customaxima.com post something that would trip a CEL

 

yeah ppl say the dyno is BS but there may be hope stillen is in development of a product called the VQ pro give them a call and see when it will be relesed.

 

99 maxima's DO NOT have ecu upgrades. No matter what and you cannot put a 97 ecu in a 99 maxima. NO ECU UPGRADE FOR 99 MAXIMA!!!

 

yeah what maxandy said, theres no ECU anything for a 99 max

 

ok it is true that there is no ECU upgrade but stillin has a daughter board that should be for sale soon its called the VQ pro and It will work on 99's if you think im full of it give stillen a call

 

check the post on the VQ pro....its only for the 3.5 VQs
