o2 sensor, help please

i have a 95 max, i my check eng lite came on & checked codes, 0503 right heated o2 sensor & 0304 knock sensor, changed both , then reseted computer & when i am driving the check eng lite starts blinking when i am driving, when i would stop it would go off, when i gave the engine gas lite would start blinking again, till it finally stayed on... so i then changed the front left bank o2sensor, same thing, check codes & now i get 0503 front right heated o2 sensor 0901 front right heated sensor & 0307 Engine Control Module Closed Loop Logic .... The new sensors are same exact sensors that nissan calls for except they are universal ones which means you have to wire them yourself, so my mechanic used the old harness & rewired the new universal o2 sensors.... anyone ever had this problem, please help

Probably should have stuck with Maxima-specific sensors. Not hacking up the harness would probaly saved u some major headaches! If ur mechanic left the car harness alone, your best bet is to bite the bullet and get Max specific sensors. A rule to live buy, especially with our cars is: "Universal parts universally fit nothing)!

you have it on diagnostic mode. you have to turn the screw twice and you should be fine. when i say twice i mean turn fully clockwise then back then one more time. also try it one time first with the ignition on
and see if that works first since it is already in diagnostic mode then start the car and see if the light stops blinking

turn key to ignition then turn computer screw fully clockwise until it stops, wait a second then turn back fully counterclockwise. repeat this twice then start the car. if the sensor is not working properly the light will come on and stay on. it only blinks in diagnostic mode.

check your fuse box - there is O2 sensor fuse there
after replacing my 02 sensors are resetting the EECU -light would still stay on. Than i replaced the fuse resetted it again and wham !!! light is gone.

also to reset it properly follow the instructions in the thread above but instead starting the engine turn it to OFF position and take the key out.

than start the engine - light should go away.

Nick.
