GT Fabrications Front Lower Brace review
GT Fabrications Front Lower Brace review
OK... I've had one of these babies on for a few months now. If it wasn't the weather or something else on my car (brake project, etc) to hinder a good "drive" with these it was something else.
First my specs before:
1) Motivational shortened front Koni's on the front and rear modified mounts with Koni's set to "upper" spring position(increased suspension travel)
2) Intrax Springs.
3) Stillen front and rear STBs; Stillen rear swar bar
4) Warpspeed Stage I SFC
so my car was fairly rigid to begin with.
Since I don't autocross or go to any racetracks, I can't give you a "racing" evaluation...
The feel of the front suspension and steering wheel are much better.
The most noticable thing was a more solid steering feel. Small imperfections and bumps on the road aren't transmitted as much to the steering wheel. I think the front suspension is allowed to do the "shock absorption" rather then the body... The body rigidity (and turns) seem marginally improved but keep in mind that folks without SFC and STBs will probably notice a much bigger difference.
I had some clearance problems (on acceleration due to weak motor mounts (now changed and filled with 3M window weld). At the same time I had GT fab "pinch" a portion of the bar that use to make contact with the later gen Still Y for extra clearance. I think other makes of Y are located higher up.
Installation and alignment with attachment points were excellent and no problems were encountered.
Although any front lower brace will reduce ground clearance (unavoidable with our engine crossmember), I have not encounted any clearance problems with my setup.
Those that Autocross would make great use of this add on. It could be installed and removed easily for those who are mechanically inclined, though most won't have to unless their car is really "dumped" and drive in very bad areas.
Culver at GT fab is very knowledgable and a great welder as well (he welded my custom AWIC reservoir tank). If you need details give him a shout.

I think they still have a special on this... I think the normal price was like around $175, iirc.
You can still probably get the sale price they were offering not too long ago. Email them:

It's essentially the same as Matt's...
We won't know for sure on either because Matt and GT fabs are gonna be different designs (and companies) that may/may not have interference problems with WSP pending designed and release of the radial arms.
Alfonso, you are a "bad" influence
