My maxima cant pass insplection for nothing. i went to the motor vehicles 3 times to get it inspected, each time they failed me for something different. i bought the car with no inspection sticker. when i got the car inspected the car had no major mods the first time. they fail me for tinted windows. allright i guess that was comin to me. so i took the tint off. next time i go they tell me that my engine light doesnt blink on then off when they start the car. why didnt they tell me that before. inspection failler number 2. almost got a ticket for this one. i found out that the bulb in the cluster was missing, some one did some stupid **** to this car. i took out the wack *** indiglo guages and replaced the bulb, next thing u know engine light stays on now. gotta find out wat the problem is. so me and my fellow maxima ower meccanoble do an ecu code check on my maxima and found two codes (evap purge control valve and evap canister valve).
later i got to hillside nissan for a free 100 point check up and they tell me that i need new belts $129 parts and labor, new back brakes $245 P/L and a vent control valve $155 P/L. i declined everything except the vent control valve. i change the belts with my machanic for $20 and rear brakes for $40 not including parts. anyway i got the vent control valve changed and hillside nissan. and go right away to DMV in newark, tell me why the **** did they fail me again. this was the third time, this time for emissions. oh i had the warpspeed y-pipe installed like 2 weeks ago but i was told that it should affect anything long as i let the car run for a while. on the inspection sheet it says cataletic converter (not ready), EGR (not ready) and , o2 senser (not ready). movin on i go check out a private inspection center and they telll me upfront $65 pass or fail, hopin they would cut me some slack (i would rather not loose $65). he takes a look at the inspection sheet and he says that my ECU hasnt checked all systems yet and that i should drive the car on the highway for about half and hour, so i did. mind u this is all in one day. i go back to DMV and they wont even let me thru, one dumb *********a gets up and tell me oh "u cant pass with those blue lights, i could see them from way back there" , and the lights dont even light up blue. why couldnt they tell me this before. wasting some much ****in time and stressing for a simple ****in inspection jeeess. i have a final tommorow and i am so ****in ****ed over this ****. ok let me calm down. can anyone relate? does anyone have any suggestions?, could anyone help me out u know, let me know where to go for private inspection and pay with garrenteed passing. im in the upper jersey area.

 

I am the same boat man. I don't want to go into too much detail, but I will say that I was failed because my shifter (5 speed) didn't have the 1-2-3-4-5-R written on the shifter.

They failed me for that! Very unhappy about petty foolishness like that.

Wow that sucks. Over here I went for my emission test and the CEL turned on, but they still tested the car and it passed fine. They didn't check my bulbs, blades, etc. They only checked to see if the gas cap was holding pressure.
