Exhaust & Y-Pipe Question ... Again ...

OK, first question .... anyone try the pacesetter exhaust? I saw on NOPI that it's just over $200 and seems like a good deal vs. the 400-500 systems out there (plus it looks really close to stock).

Second ... it's probably been debated left and right, but I'm curious to know what the REAL difference is between WSP and Budget y-pipes. Such as performance, sound, fitment etc.

Hmmm, anyone use catco cats as well?

Thanks in advance!

Performance wise, all the y-pipes are the same. The WSP group deal one is aluminum and the Budget one is stainless steel. There are little to no complaints about the Budget pipe, but there are some complaints about the WSP hitting the cross-member under the car or something.

i e-mailed pacesetter about their system, what he told me was good, except its a lot louder than stock. its usually on Ebay for less than $200.

the greddy system sounds amazing without a y-pipe, it is very very deep and is probably as close to stock as you can get. doesn't drone much and sounds awesome at all RPM's. dunno about the Y with it though...

I have the SP2 with Y-pipe and love it. Here's a link to what I had to say about it: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=308671

Any impressions of the sound when you're climbing a hill? I'm thinking of the SP2 as well but not sure how loud it will get with my Budget Y-pipe.

I had a Vibrant universal muffler and while climbing a long hill the noise was uncomfortable.

My parents live on a hill that must be largest and steepest in Iowa. It's deeper than a stock exhaust when climbing and louder but I liked it. Gotta remind those people who owns that hill

Hahaha!

Noise that you can hear at least 2 blocks away?

Yeah ... I heard the same from others about the pacesetter, so that's off my list.

I'm really leaning toward the OBX system because it's completely stainless. And you can find it for under $300 shipped on eBay. I figure, that with a y-pipe would be the same price as just the GReddy catback.

In all honesty, I guess I don't really care about sound as much as I do the performance. But, it also has to last ...

I bought the GReddy because it sounded good as well as for the fact that it's pure SS. I didn't want my Max to sound like a Civic lol
