Great gas mileage

I always new my 97 Se 5 speed got great gas mileage but I found out just how good it is this weekend.I took a 388 mile trip.about 50 miles of some red lights and 65mph. The rest was highway running 72-75 mph.I filled up at cowboys truck stop because they have the cheapest gas here.I used 93 octane. When I finished my trip I still had over! a quarter of a tank left.I didn't refill it but I figure from experience that I might have had another 100 or so miles in it.Thats almost 500 miles to a tank!!!!!!.Without looking at my owners manuel I don't know what my tank capacity is but I know that 500 miles on a tank is great mileage. What do you think?I've always kinda thought about putting in a new knock sensor but with that kind of mileage i'm leaving my Maxima just the way it is.

um ok thats no way to tell ur gas mileage. you HAVE to fill it up and you HAVE to divide the miles by the gallons filled, thats the only way to know for sure, no guessing games.

Sounds about similar to what I used to get, when I lived in Denver doing alot of city driving I typically got just over 400 miles per fillup getting around 25mpg if I remember correctly. Havent figured my mpg out recently but am currently over the next few tanks as I just did a bunch of work on it and would like to see how it is now.

i got 33.175 once so it could be a real good number but i wouldnt be surprised if it wasn't considering ur inaccurate method of checking it

is your car canadian? because Miles and Kilometers are totally different things. my car is canadian LSD baby! my gas milage is 625 Kilometer for the whole tank with about 2 Gallons left in the tank still. our tanks hold 18.5 Gallons btw.

I calculated 26 MPG HWY, doing as accurate a calc as I could for driving around an average of 75 MPH and using the A/C. I wasn't trying to drive light on the gas pedal either! Plus it was heading up over a 7000 foot summit!!!

So, Im stoked about it! If I had been babying it and driving 55 I would have gotten >30 MPG! Thats some sweet stuff..

btw I head that your MPG goes down 1% for every MPH over 55. Handy statistic...
