installed CAI and now SES light on?!?!?

I just installed an Ebay CAI into my 97.... and after about 5-10 min of idleing and reving...... the SES light came on?!?! also ...... one of the smaller tubes that went into the stock air box .... doesn't seem to have a place in the new intake....... 3 tubes are connected..... the forth is just hanging there.

Make sure all of the sensors are conected, that little hose should have a little tube next to a larger one closer to the battery.

if you connect the tube, and the ses is still on, could be your MAF.. and you wouldn't wanna experience the trouble with that. So hopefully it's just the hose. Good luck man.

one of the larger hoses connected to the CAI (the hose that is closest to radiator apposed to closer to driver side) has a smaller hose tied down to it....... this little hose has nowhere to connect to?!!? Im thinking that this is the problem?!!?

thx again

That little tube most likely was connected to the air temperature sensor which is probably still in your stock intake. Look for a rubber gromit connected to the stock intake....that's the air temperature sensor. Carefully pry it out, gromit and all, and connect the little tube to it. You can either tie if off so that it will not hit anything or drill a new hole in you CAI and put the sensor in there. That and the MAF are the only things that would cause a CEL after a intake install. Good luck.
