Is a light weight UDP really worth getting? I have a 500w amp w/ a regular battery and a capacitor and I was wondering if it would decrease the power given to the system as well. I know its like a $300 process after install and belts but i was just wondering if its worth it. I have alraedy gotten the y-pipe, catback, intake, VB etc and was looking into the next step aside from ecu and mevi.

there a nice review there for you.
get it but if you were seriously considering a mevi or ecu i'd definitly hold onto my cash for them.
i doubt you will feel the UDP or will it make you 1/4 times any faster....but thats just speculation.
do what you want!

it just sort of...free's up hp. and not alot at the wheels. maybe it adds 2-4 HP at the wheels...and you can't feel that.
the review i posted tells you exactly what will happen with your fancy amp + UDP. btw saying you have a 500w amp is worthless. saying you have a jbl 4 channel amp that max does 500 with an RMS of about 75x4 is alot more exact and helps someone trying to give you information better, give you better information. peak power means nothing.

i see the UDP as a thing to buy when you've run out of things to buy to make you go faster which really will not make you much faster but lets you add it to your list and other car enthusiasts who know what a UDP is will think your cool like them.
and now for something completly different. *BOOM*

my opinion -
1. no noticeable change in electrical performance / pwr steering / AC cooling
2. engine revs slightly more easily
3. clutch engagement is a bit harsher d/t less rotating momentum
4. not much all-around power gain EXCEPT for a marked improvement in power when the AC is on (less parasitic loss to the AC) - this makes it worthwhile for me
