Friend of mine bought a 98 Euro-max (I30) 2.0V6 previously used as taxi. It has 500k kilometers on it (311k miles). Looks like new... no oil-consumption, no leaks. But you can of course see the milage on the steering wheel/pedals/driver's seat...

A few issues at 221,032 miles
My 1996 Maxima SE was purchased new in November of 1995 with 32 original miles.
Today, I changed the oil and filter, and drained and filled the transmission with Castrol Dexron/Mercon Synthetic Trans Fluid (I do this in my Auto Trans every 40,000 miles), and I have 221, 032 miles on it.
1. Issues are timing chain tensioner leaks down if I let it sit for a couple of days without starting it.
2. My starter that I have had for 170.000 miles every week or so will be silent on the first try, sometimes the second try, yesterday for the first time, it took 4 tries.
Any ideas on what replacement starter I should buy. Should I keep my original Nissan OEM starter and rebuild it so I could put it back in the next time and pay the core charge for it right now?
What does the dealer charge to replace only the timing chain tensioner?
I don't think I need the chain guides and timing chains and sprockets, just the timing chain tensioner.
Anybody experienced with these issues?
I would certainly appreciate your informed input to these problems.
Thanks,
