HELP! Power Steering Belt - HOW DO YOU REMOVE IT? (CAR IS UP ON JACKSTANDS)
Please help me. My car is lofted as I type here. A quick response would be greatly appreciated.
I tried loosening what looks like the tension adjuster bolt (vertical bolt with a set screw/bolt) in back of the power steering pump pulley, but no tension was released on the belt.
Should be simple, right? What's the trick here?
Hayne's doesn't cover this procedure.
Thanks in advance,

It was rather difficult for me. Make sure your going the correct direction on the bolt. You also need to loosen the bolt above the unit. I'm not sure what size it is. I want to say 14 or 16mm bolt I'm not sure. The bolt you need to loosen is on the inside of the inboard side of the unit car. Anyone else with input? Sorry man. I tried.

Yep, I tried both directions on the vertical bolt after loosening the horizontal bolt (set bolt?) with no luck. I tightened it all back up & will have another shot at it as soon as I get the solution on this. . .
Still on a fact-finding mission if anyone wants to contribute.
TIA,

Much appreciated!
So, by the look of it, I was failing to loosen the "invisible" mounting bolt on the very back of the pump (not related to the two bolts on the tensioner assembly). Makes sense (duh). ;oP
Hopefully, that will get it done as long as I can reach the bloody thing!

OMG, how dumb I was. I tried to change belts and did not know of that third bolt on a pulley. I thought it was pretty terribley rusted there and tried to shake it loose with strike of the hammer. Thanks people!
