i was wondering when i get the skyline style body kit for my 99 max, approx how much $$ do any of you think it would cost to repaint my car and new body kit black. i live in manassas, va.

 

I was quoted 2800 for my 99 w/out bodykit, expect at least 2K with a kit, same color

 

And it will be even more if it's a complete color change. That **** git's so exspensive

 

How much would it cost to match a kit to the original paint?

 

Should be under $1k. Paint bumpers $200 each, skirts maybe $100 each.

 

yea... i was looking into a complete color change and painting the entire body kit the same color... the color i have now [i think it is rosewood red] just makes my car look like a geezer car

 

problems with a complete change: a real change is lots of money. your engine bay will be another color, your door jams will be another color. inside your gas lid will be another color, inside your trunk and the trunk hinges will be another color you get the idea.

a good paint job is around 3000 you can lower the price by about 1/2 if you do ALL the prep work yourself.

a good shop will honestly charge you about 4k for the whole package and you will get a great job done on it...

if you hate the color of your car its cheaper to buy a new max in the color/model you want, and then throw your kit on it and pay 2000+ less and have the car the way you want it.

Its too much money to repaint your car a whole new color, but if you got the Ca$h then thats the way to go. I would stay with the same color of the car and then just paint the body kit to match it. Im currently painting my hood my door and new stock bumber and its alot of WORK. But thank god I got some skills to do it myself because the local body shop want it to make me $450 poorer!
So far its costing me:
1/4 factory matching paint = $55
1/4 Clear coat and activator = $65
My hard work and pride = worth it
