How much should wheel alignment cost? Also, what exactly do they do?

I was told that my car wasnt aligned properly and thus the tires were unevenly worn. Is this just bull**** to get me to pay extra money?

 

$70-140 depending on how long it is. Ranges from a 6 month alignment to a 2 year alignment deal.

 

my last one was $60, and what it does is checks and adjusts the toe-in, camber and caster of your wheels. yes it does effect the wear of your tires greatly, if your wheels are not alligned then your tires will wear unevenly and prematurely. if your tires were worn unevenly or you screwed around with any part of the suspension or steering you need to get an alignment.

 

Mine was $60 also and it came with a 6 month/6000 mile warranty.

Wherever you go, get a lifetime alignment. It is not much more and then you can bring it back for as long as you have that car. Just keep up with your receipts or whatever little booklet they give you.

 

Know any stores in NYC that provides lifetime wheel alignment? I'm interested in getting it. Funny thing, I never thought i can get a lifetime wheel alignment.
