Anytime it's hot it will effect any intake system. The hot air is everywhere. I haven't had this problem yet, but mine is also a custom fabricated one.

The hot air will regardless effect any intake, but with the CAI, its less due to it's location. I had a intake designed for a SE-R and i chopped up the adapter and used a doubloe stack cone. I think it works better then the Stillen. I have a Stillen on a 92 Maxima. I also used a dryer hose and kinda created a ram air effect by directing it towards the cone.

Probably around 5-6hp, not much. You can feel a little bit on the high end of the power band.

Pop Charger effects at high temp

Any car will lose power on a hot summer day as compared to a cool day...

And the Pop Charger air intake is fully exposed in the engine compartment where the temps nearby will be higher based on the ambient temp of the weather... So I think the effects on power vs. temp will be greater with the Pop Charger...

I live in San Jose, Ca and San Fransisco is an hour away... San Fransicso weather is always cooler than San Jose... I drive my car on a hot day in San Jose (90 degrees) and then take the car up to San Fransisco in the evening where it is about 65 degrees. When I get to San Fransisco, the car make a noticeable gain in torque.. Combine that low temp with the cool misty fog that seems to cover some areas of the city and I get a nice intercooling effect from that too...
